People in corporate real estate have said that Georgia’s lack of tort reform has made doing business in the state a nightmare.

Gov. Brian Kemp’s push to curb abusive lawsuits cleared a significant hurdle this past week.

Legislators will soon begin hearings for Gov. Brian Kemp’s much publicized attempt to reform Georgia’s legal system. 

Kemp delivered an unusual, not-so-thinly-veiled threat: a special session later this year if lawmakers don’t act on his top priority.

Not all lawsuits are frivolous, but those that are raise costs for all truckers, and by extension, every consumer in Georgia.

It’s increasingly difficult for Georgia’s childcare centers to find companies who will insure them.
